Gale Marion Hacking

Gale Marion Hacking passed away Thursday, May 04, 2017, at the Community Living Center, VA Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. Gale was born May 24, 1950, in Pocatello, Idaho. His family moved to Soda Springs, Idaho, where he spent most of his childhood. In 1964, the family moved to Rupert, Idaho, and he attended Minco High School. He was a member of the United States Navy from 1968 to 1972, where he served in Vietnam. In 1972, he was honorably discharged. He had two sons, Jeremy and Henry. He retired from the VA as a Vocational Development Specialist where he prided himself on the people he was able to help during his time working at the VA. Gale was known for his great sense of humor and warm smile. Gale loved spending time with his family and friends, fishing, Idaho’s beautiful outdoors, and always enjoyed life to the fullest. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernile and Pauline Hacking; four brothers, Dennis Hacking, Phillip Hacking, Ralph Hacking, and his twin brother, Dale Hacking (Jake); and one sister, Susan Holmes. He is survived by his children, Jeremy and Donna Hacking of Nampa, Idaho, and Henry and Mikayla Hacking of August, GA; and five grandchildren, Madison, Allison, Carson, Colton, and Bianca. Gale’s family will celebrate his life on June 23 at 1 P.M. at the Idaho Veterans Cemetery, friends and family are welcome to attend. A BBQ will follow the service where we will share memories, location to be announced at a later date.
