I learned only this morning of Kerry's passing when her neighbor told me on my morning walk. I had been wondering when we'd see her wheeling up the driveway again to share some laughs and commiserations on the state of the world.
The last time I spoke with Kerry must have been only a day or so before her passing. She had spoken of the pain of losing her dogs recently and her love of animals showed.
I am going to miss that laugh. L'Chaim, you're perfect just the way you were.

We knew Kerry as a close friend and neighbor in Downey, California in the 1970's. She was a lovely girl who warmed our hearts and made us laugh. It was a joy to be around her. Decades later, we reconnected with her on Facebook, which then led to a few heartwarming long distance phone conversations after Steve had a devastating stroke and went into a nursing home. She was so kind to him on the phone, and they had great fun reminiscing over their dating and wild motorcycle adventures. She had him smiling even though he couldn't say much in return because of his stroke. She had such a big heart. We are both hurting over her passing, but we know she would not want us to be sad for long. She is greatly missed by the Beck brothers.
