January 11, 1939 ~ May 27, 2022 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Tribute

Lloyd Wayne Smith (Smitty) peacefully passed away May 27, 2022, with his family by his side.  He was 83 years old at the time of his death.

Lloyd was born January 11, 1939, in Meridian, Idaho to Byron and Martha Smith.  He was the baby of the family with 2 older brothers, Vilas, and Gene.

In his early years he grew up very active in sports, setting school records of which some are currently unbroken today.

After Graduation he joined the Navy where he served two active years and two inactive years.  He was very proud to have served his country and talked about those days often.

His career choice was to join the Cement Masons and continue that passion for 42 years.

He met and married Linda in 1984.  We all like to joke about his 5Th wife, the one that stuck!  She was perfect for him; they were perfect for each other!  He adored her and everyone knew that.

They Joined the Idaho Free Trappers, LTD Black Powder Shooting Club together in 1985.  Together they enjoyed traveling to Rendezvous where they made many great friends. He loved shooting his 50 Caliber Percussion Black powder gun and his 50 Caliber Flint Lock.  During a special ceremony Lloyd received a new name “Shooting Bull” because he loved talking “shooting the breeze.” He wanted to talk to everyone and anyone.  He had a gift of compassion and a kindness.  No matter who you were, he was genuinely interested in getting to know you.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents Byron and Martha Smith, two brothers, Vilas and Gene, nephew Victor and daughter-in-law Wendy

Lloyd is survived by his wife Linda of 38 years, two sons Kelly (Julie) and Monte (Teri), two daughters Jenni (Tim) and Lonja. Five grandchildren, Dustyn (Brittany), Stacie (Scott) and Lindsay (Tucker), Landon (Carly), and Taylor (Blythe) two step-grandchildren, Brandon (Sarah), and Devin.  Niece Judy (Ray) and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also, one very special 4-legged fur baby named Angel.

In lieu of flowers please donate to the Idaho Humane Society in Angel’s name.
