Pamala G Link

January 27, 1964 ~ May 21, 2022 (age 58)

On Saturday, May 21, we lost our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. Pam was born to Herb and (Merriam) Ruth Elliott in Boise, Idaho. The youngest of six and the daughter of a miner, she and her brothers and sister grew up with regular moves between Moab, Utah, Vail, Colorado, and Idaho City, Idaho. Her favorite childhood memories included riding horses in Moab with her older sister and nieces and learning how to ski with Jean Claude Killy in Vail. She found plenty of adventure wherever she lived, and would remember with a laugh how many weekends she spent washing police cars after getting caught having had a little too much fun.

She married Steve Link, the love of her life, in Idaho City in 1986 and lived with him and daughters Tera and (Chantel) Nickie, traveling throughout Nevada while Steve worked as a heavy equipment operator building roads before settling down once again in Idaho City in 1993. Having inherited the urge to keep moving, she also lived in various homes in Nampa, Boise, and Idaho City in the years that followed. No matter where she lived, she was never without a good dog or a pretty garden.

Pam will be remembered by all who knew her for her big mouth and even bigger heart.  She was well known for her big laugh, quick wit, many artistic talents, and limitless generosity. She designed and baked many cover-worthy wedding and birthday cakes, beautiful quilts, award-winning Halloween costumes and fancy dresses for her kids, grandkids, family and friends. Being a true renaissance woman, she was equally good at hunting, fishing, gardening, and perfectly capable of rebuilding a transmission when the need arose. She loved kids, and stepped in to care for all who showed up at her kitchen table in need of a meal or an ear. The greatest joy of her life was her two sets of twin grandchildren, for whom she was always baking, sewing, and thinking up new ways to spoil.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Steve Link; her children, Tera (James) Benkert and Chantel “Nickie” Elliott-Link; her grandchildren August, Wylie, Rowan, Gemma; siblings Jan Flynn, John (Ruth) Elliott, Chuck (Jackie) Elliott, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her poor pug, Frankie, who misses her terribly. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Richard “Dickie” Elliott and Carl “Jimbo” Elliott.

Pam requested that there be no special services held on her behalf. A pot luck and celebration of her life will be hosted at Idaho City Community Hall on Saturday, August 13 at 3pm.
