Tribute

Larry R. Neugart, father, amazing nature photographer, expert traveler of Eastern Oregon, Idaho, and Montana, master musician (particularly the trumpet), a kind heart, and an amazing brain filled with trivia and knowledge, passed away at the age of 79, on May 26, 2022 at St. Luke’s in Meridian, Idaho. No services are planned at this time.

Larry was born July 23rd, 1942 in Corvallis, Oregon to Ray and Leta (Ingram) Neugart. He graduated from Myrtle Point Union High School and attended the University of Oregon, where he continued his study and passion of music.

He dearly loved his younger brother, Don (a character in his own right), his sons, grand-children, potatoes (any and all kinds), and his cats.  He excelled at living within his means, photography, making friends, and remembering nearly everything he read.  His amazing memory kept many entertained (and often in check) across a variety of subjects.

While he lived alone for a very long time, he was rarely lonely and loved to meet new people.  He was hip with technology and social media gave him an amazing platform to share both his beautiful nature pictures and his wit/charm.  He was an incredibly gracious man that figured out early in life how to do and enjoy the things that made him happy, on his terms.

Larry is survived by his two children:  Jeff (Courtney) Neugart , Chandler, AZ, Brad (Tracey) Neugart, Cold Spring, MN, 5 grandchildren: Brittni, Jaxon, Alisandra, Rachel, and Gavin Neugart.
