Tribute

Jack Miller 85 of Boise died peacefully in his north Boise home on May 12th.  Jack or “Uncle Jack” to many was born to Julius and Rita Miller in Enterprise, Or.  He attended Garden Valley High School before joining the US Navy for a four-year tour beginning in 1952 where he served admirably as a fire fighting specialist both as a fire truck driver as well as on a naval aircraft carrier.

After serving his country his love for the back country led him to endeavor into work with his brothers and other family members. Their enterprises included work in logging, gold mining and heavy equipment operations. He later drove a truck for Statewide Driving.

In his sunset years Jack grew to enjoy caring for the wild animals near his home.  He never outgrew his love of the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and camping.  He also enjoyed old westerns and a good football game. Jack was a quiet peaceful soul who seldom complained; and never argued or asked for much. He was the last of his generation and will be missed by family and friends.

In death, Jack joins his parents Julius and Rita, his siblings Roy, Marvin and Marita as well as his niece and nephew Jim and Debbie.  He will be missed by his surviving multi-generational family.
