Harry Clinton Herbert 78 of Boise, Idaho, passed away peacefully October 22, 2022 after a devastating battle with Alzheimer’s.

Harry was born on June 17, 1944 to Evelyn Frances & Harry Walter Herbert in Price, Utah. After Harry graduated from East Carbon High school in 1962, he joined the US Army, serving stateside in Washington DC in the field of Communications; at the White House under President Lyndon B. Johnson from 1964-1966, earning several Certificate of Achievements for his outstanding work. After the military Harry attended Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah where he studied Theology and History earning a degree in History in 1970.

Moving to Boise, Idaho he began his career in social work, then working for the Idaho Commission for the Blind and finally for Idaho Disability Determinations where he was appointed by the Governor of the State of Idaho as Deputy Administrator earning acknowledgement from Idaho Department of Labor for 35 years.

Harry was an extraordinarily loving and giving man; he has one biological son James Herbert and two daughters Kathlynne and Susanne Herbert; and over the years added ten adopted children, most dealing with physical and/or mental disabilities; along with several foster children.

In 2007, Harry married Wilma Dorene Reeves. During their life together they were able to enjoy Harry’s love of traveling, visiting all 7 continents while indulging in all of the wonderful cuisine and wine pairing; where Harry became quite a refined wine connoisseur.

Harry was dedicated to staying fit, he had a particular fondness for the outdoors; he enjoyed working out at the gym, walking the Greenbelt, hiking the foothills and fishing. He was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Guardians and a Boise State Bronco fan.

Harry was predeceased in death by both of his parents Evelyn & Harry W. Herbert, his half-siblings, brother Roy Litchfield & sister Darlene Stagner, and two of his children Jeffrey & Jennifer Herbert.

He is survived by his children: Susanne, Kathlynne, Michael, Devin, Jonathon, Kristyn, Mathew, Greg, Joshua, Kara Herbert and Tonya & Kevin Falk, James H Pobst.  His granddaughter Maya, Sasha, Bridget, & Adrianna Herbert. His step-grandchildren: Nicholas & Hayley, Michael & Haylee and Jarod Brown and his step-great-grandchildren: Kason, Piper & Ti Brown.

A man of strong faith, Harry had a close relationship with Jesus Christ. He was known for his generosity, his good-natured attitude, and his appreciation of humor that often had him laughing. Harry will be greatly missed. Gone but Never Forgotten.

Services will be held at Veterans Memorial, Dry Creek Cemetery on Tuesday November 8, 2022 @ 11:00am. Harry had a generous heart and gave graciously to several charities; in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
