Erin Rhea Davison

1957 ~ 2021 (age 64) 64 Years Old

Tribute

Our favorite Elf on a Shelf, Erin Rhea Davison was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, March 22, 1957.  Erin lost her courageous battle with ovarian cancer on June 30,2021, at her home in Boise, Idaho surrounded by loved ones.

Erin was fortunate to have a charmed life with her parents, Richard “Dick” and Grace Davison and her sisters and brother growing up in Caldwell, Idaho.  Because her family had a successful business, Erin was taught a strong work ethic from a young age and the rewards were fun vacations traveling to places like Hawaii and Mexico.   Many wonderful memories were made at the family’s McCall home snow skiing, attending ice carnivals in the winter and water skiing in the summer.

Erin graduated from Vallivue High School in Caldwell, Idaho, in 1975.  Her best friend and first love, Liz Thiel, graduated with her.  As is often the case, their relationship did not endure, but their friendship and love for one another did.

Erin was a smart and charismatic woman that was successful at anything she tackled.  Well, perhaps not as successful at golf as she’d like to have been, but she had an amazing time with incredible friends while trying.

1985 was a stellar year for Erin.  That year she met the love of her life, her soulmate, Patty Campbell, and she started a career in the mortgage industry.  Both these new ventures were successful and brought her joy for the remainder of her life.  Erin and Patty enjoyed time with family playing games, holiday gatherings, having barbeques, swimming, and laughing .  Erin’s family is extremely close knit and Erin and Patty were loved unconditionally.  Their time with friends was spent golfing, traveling, watching movies, watching the Cubs, and socializing.  Erin had a successful 35 year career in the mortgage industry.  The majority was spent with the same group of people.  Everyone should be lucky enough to have a career that allows you to hold positions of responsibility while working with people you respect and love doing work you enjoy.

Erin is survived by her wife, Patty Campbell; sisters Brenda McKenna Wessels, Sherri Davison Willard (Glenn) and Debbie Davison; niece, Paige Wessels Mitchell, and nephews Brad Guisasola, Don Davison, Travis Willard, and Jerod Willard as well as much loved great nephews and nieces.  There will be a celebration of life to commemorate and honor our dear Erin at the Riverside Hotel, 2900 W Chinden, Boise, Idaho on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., organized by Carolyne Berg.  Members of the family will be wearing yellow roses to help identify them.

Erin was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Grace Davison, her brother, Michael Davison, in-laws,  Bernard and Lorna Campbell, brother-in-law, Alan Wessels, and great nephew, Jeg Mitchell.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Erin’s name to the American Cancer Society.

The world we live in was better for having Erin in it.  She will be missed and loved always.  Erin’s motto is very telling . . .” It doesn’t matter where you go in life, it’s who you have beside you.”
