Betty Lou Floyd

Betty Lou Floyd was born July 21, 1928 in Bement, Illinois. She was the eighth of nine children to Byron Still and Nellie Still. She attended Arcola High School and Mattoon Senior High, both of Illinois. While living in Bremerton, WA., she met her husband on a blind date. She married William Keith Floyd on August 19, 1945 in Coeur d'Alene, ID. After her husband's military career they moved to Boise, Idaho.
They had two sons, Roger and David and two daughters, Carol and Colleen. After living in California for a brief time they finally settled in Boise again. After years of working in the area, she retired after 28 years from General services admin for the federal government where she was Area Telecommunications Manager.
Betty loved the get togethers with family and friends and many activities with both. She loved going to the dances at Treasure Valley singles.
She is survived by her son Roger (Cynthia) of Nampa, Carol Pierce (Neil) of Caldwell, Colleen Jensen of Boise. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also survived by one brother, Melvin Still of Illinois.
She is preceded in death by her husband in 1985, son David in 1999 and the loss of her beloved granddaughter Lisa Marie Grob in 2011.
Funeral arrangements will be under the direction of Cremation Society of Idaho. Burial services will be at Cloverdale Cemetary on July 20 at 10 a.m. On July 21 (her 90th birthday) there will be a celebration of life potluck at Carol and Neil's home in Caldwell.
