Tribute

Andrew (Andy, Drew) Robert Whiteley, aged 51, passed away peacefully on March 18th, 2023, due to complications stemming from his battle with diabetes and cancer in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving wife and children in Boise, ID.  Andy came roaring into this world on July 14, 1971. Born to Robert “Bob” Eldon Whiteley and Marsha Lynn (Tepfer) Whiteley.  During that time he had an older sister, Allison, and then in 1974 new brother, Travis was born.

In 1977, Andy’s dad, Bob remarried Patricia Cathy Hansen and the family grew to include three more brothers, Mitch, Mike, and Matt.  In 1979 Bob and Pat had Tony and the Whiteley clan became a huge family of nine.

Andy graduated from Florence-Carlton High School in 1990. He served for a summer in the Navel Reserves as a heavy equipment operator, then served a full two year mission in Las Vegas, Nevada for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints from 1992 - 1993. Upon return from his mission, Andy attended Ricks college in Rexburg Idaho and performed as the lead singer and performer for Jacobs Island Park resort, where he met his first wife Amy Davenport (Marlowe). They were married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in 1996 and together had three children Audrey, Bridget, and Alec Whiteley. He later worked for the Cable One company while attending college at BSU where he received his bachelors in Social Work and followed his passion for counseling as a child welfare worker for the State of Idaho and also worked as a special needs counselor with challenged teens.

In 2010 Andy married his current wife Janna Harris Pratt, in the Boise Idaho LDS Temple and was thrilled to add two step-children Nate and McKenna Pratt to his family.

In 2015 Andy graduated from Northwest Nazarene University with a Masters in Social Work and finished his career working for IDOC as a Mental Health Clinician where he touched many lives with his wisdom, compassion and kindness.

Andy had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. He loved telling stories, enjoyed big trucks, fast cars and even faster motorcycles. His quick wit and sense of humor always brought laughter to the ones around him. He loved the outdoors, camping and going on adventures with his family and friends.  He was a gracious and generous big brother, a devoted father and a loving husband. He is survived by his wife Janna (Harris) Whiteley, his children Nathan Alan Pratt, McKenna Spencer (Jack), Audrey Diane Whiteley, Bridget Hurley (Jackson) and Alec Andrew Whiteley. His parents, Robert and Patricia Whiteley of Cascade, Idaho, his sister Allison Raydean Megal, and brothers Mitch Whiteley (Amy Jo), Mike Whiteley (Jenni), Travis Whiteley (Akemi), Matt Whiteley, and Tony Whiteley (Ellen) along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
