Alice Gill Foster, 83, of Stockton, CA. died Sept.2, 2022. Alice Foster passed away peacefully on Sept. 2, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Boise, ID from complications due to illness. Alice was born to Charles and Ruth Gill of Weiser, ID in 1939, their only child. Alice worked as a high school teacher, a school Vice Principal, and an educational book editor. She was an ardent union activist, and extremely active in the Stockton Teacher’s Association, in California. Alice loved quilting, needlepoint, and spending time with family and friends. She was an avid reader and consumed a multitude of books. But her greatest love was her log cabin in Idaho, built by her grandfather, where she spent every summer of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Foster in 1993. She is survived by her four children, William Foster of Boise, ID, Michael Foster of Hayward, CA, Roberta Cabot of Boise, ID, and Elizabeth Kramer of Bloomington, IN. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Alice will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She has chosen not to have a service.
