Patsy Leola (Ruth) Saxton, born January 10, 1940 to Wilburn Charles Ruth and Elsie Jones Ruth in El Centro, California, passed from this life June 3, 2017, surrounded by her family.
She lived with her beloved Grandma and Grandpa Jones until the age of 7 with her two sisters, Charlotte and Frances, in Wilder, Idaho. She later moved with her mother Elsie and Ed Tannlund to Fruitland, Idaho where she graduated from Fruitland High School. She met her future husband at the cannery, and married Marvin Dale Saxton Sr. March 6, 1959, in Payette, Idaho.
She had a great love of gardening and spent many hours tending her very large and productive vegetable garden. Many hours were also spent in her kitchen canning the spoils of her labors. If gardening did not keep her busy enough she raised five children. She enjoyed her family very much and created special memories for her children and grandchildren to cherish. There were many Halloweens where platters of homemade donuts awaited her favorite trick-or-treaters, her grandchildren. They loved the goodies at Grandma’s house. She is also remembered for her collection of frogs, sewing, quilting, and time spent with the Old Timers Auto Club.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Marvin D. Saxton Sr., her five children, Daveta Saxton Ulrich (Bruce), Annette Saxton Greenwood (B.H. III), Kevan Saxton, Marvin Saxton Jr. (Lori), and Alice Saxton, her sisters, Charlotte Morgan (Bill) and Frances Mattoch and her nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She will be missed.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Park View Cemetery in New Plymouth, Idaho.
