Gary was born in Medford, Oregon in 1938 to Theodore and Freda Sandeen. At three years old, they moved to San Fernando, California where his father worked for Lockheed. After graduation, he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Idaho, where he met Donna Welsh and married on June 10, 1960. Linda and Larry were born in Boise, and Lanae in Tucson, Arizona. After he retired, they moved back to Boise.

Gary lived a full life, he was a pilot, flight instructor, he loved to boat, hunt, fish, scuba dive, snow mobile, and spending time with his family.

Gary is greatly missed. He leaves his wife, Donna Sandeen; three children, Linda Hartwell, Larry Sandeen and Lanae Steiger; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sandra Lyndell Klint of Portland, Oregon. Gary had a great sense of humor. He was the one that we could go to for any answers. He was very intelligent and loved to share his knowledge. He also loved his animals and spoiled them rotten.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at the Eagles Lodge, 7025 W. Overland Rd. on June 8, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Please bring a dish to share and a favorite memory. Special thanks to Encompass Hospice.
